The under-tile thermal insulating system

Isotec is made up of a rigid central polyurethane foam core with a density of 38 kg/m3 that, with thicknesses of 60-80-100-120 mm makes it possible to improve the system’s thermal resistance, adapting it to the various requirements for living comfort and greater energy saving. The polyurethane panel is coated in a sheet of embossed aluminium, made loadbearing by a reinforced, perforated aluzinc stiffener that works as a support for laying the roof covering, facilitating micro-ventilation of the space under the covering while conveying any accidental infiltration of rainwater from the roof into the gutter.

It is a thermal insulation system for pitched roofs, designed for repairing and refurbishing roofs on old buildings and for creating new roofs.
This simple system involves laying modular structural panels that are light-weight and have longitudinal and header edges, shaped to overlap and interlock with one another. Its light-weight, easy manoeuvrability and workability at a height, speeding up correct installation of the panels that, when laid in sequence (from the gutter line to the ridge) quickly form a loadbearing – thermal insulating – micro-ventilated platform that is waterproof in the face of accidental infiltration past the roof covering.
This single dry-laid system provides 4 functions: thermal insulation, second-stage waterproofing, under-tile ventilation and, thanks to the stiffener built into the panel, support for attaching the roof covering.

Isotec requires respect for the simple rules of installation and the rigorous use of the completion tools for laying, provided for in the system kit. When correctly laid, the roof is no longer a problem but rather becomes an authentic resource for living comfort and energy saving for the entire building.

WHY THIS SYSTEM
This single dry-laid system provides 4 functions: thermal insulation, second-stage waterproofing, under-tile ventilation and, thanks to the stiffener built into the panel, support for attaching the roof covering.Isotec requires compliance with simple installation rules and strict use of the laying completion accessories.

When laid correctly the roof becomes a real living comfort and energy saving resource for the entire building.

IDENTIFICATION, TRACEABILITY AND PACKAGING
Isotec panels are marked with the production lot and packaged by Brianza Plastica S.p.A. with waterproof IV resistant polyethylene shrinking film. The packages are equipped with identification stickers with sequence numbers, which guarantees the traceability of the product. Every label display the CE mark.

ROOF STRUCTURE
The Isotec system is extremely simple to lay, requires normal site tools, and does not require specialist labour. It is ideal for both roofs with a discontinuous steel or timber structure, or with a continuous structure of any kind.

TRANSPORT
The packages are supplied with supports consisting of expanded polystyrene joists placed at adequate intervals in order to distribute the weight in a homogenous manner and render possible the use of the casing for handling.

STORAGE
Do not remove the shrinking film until the moment of laying. Where necessary, the overlay of a maximum of 2 cases is authorised so as to reduce the storage space required to a minimum.

LIFTING AND HANDLING
The casing must be strictly harnessed in at least two points, at a distance of no less than half the length of the casing itself. Specific spacers must be used to prevent direct contact of the belting with the casing. The lifting must be performed exclusively with the use of a rocker. The depositing of the casing on the roofing must be carried out on planes suitable to support them, both for resistance and for conditions of support and safety. The lightness of the Isotec panel allows for the easy and swift handling which can be carried out manually by a single operator.

DISPOSAL
The disposal of the polyurethane foam (EWC code 170604 – insulating material free from dangerous substances) is assimilable with the treatment of solid urban waste in any authorised dump.
